Literary Extraordinaire Toneal M. Jackson is synonymous with all things literary!
As an International Award-Winning Author, Toneal has written relationship books, children’s books, books on effective communication, as well as those geared to inspire. Though a native of Chicago, her titles have been featured in various cities throughout the country including Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, Dayton, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas, Memphis, and Miami.
In 2011, she ranked #3 as the National Black Book Festival's Best New Author for her relationship book, Pleasing Your Partner: A Spiritual Guide to H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S. This book was celebrated at the 2011 Dayton Book Expo. Toneal also served as a seminar speaker for the 2011 Ultimate Women's Expo in Dallas, TX.
In 2012, Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier featured her in their “Celebrating Authors” exhibit throughout African-American Heritage Month. Later that year, CBS Chicago recognized her as one of "5 Indie Chicago Authors and Publishers to Watch Out For".
In 2013, she appeared as a guest on The Exchange TV Show; Toneal was later featured in the June issue of Promoting Purpose Magazine. She was also nominated for BWABC's Female Author of the Year. Later that year, her book, Inspiration from A.B.O.V.E. received the Silver Medal from the Readers' Favorite International Book Awards.
Being self-published, Toneal understands authors, and the frustrations and difficulties associated with obtaining success in the industry; however, she knows it is possible. She is living proof that knowledge and dedication allows you to overcome any obstacle. Her passion to help others prosper, and compassion for their struggle is what prompted Toneal to start this organization. She has combined that zeal with her education, experience, and expertise as an author and life coach to personally guide others in accomplishing their literary goals.
In 2014, Toneal started her publishing company, APS Publishing, which produces Inspirational, Self-help; Nonfiction; Poetry; and Children's titles. That year, her imprint published 3 books: I'm Still Here; Morsels of Truth; and #ImBeautyInspired.
On May 1, 2015 (one month after her 35th birthday), Toneal opened her bookstore, APS Books & More. Located inside of Chicago's Ford City Mall, this bookstore is purposed to provide a platform for and bring exposure to self-published authors.
Toneal has been married for over a decade, and credited with raising more than 10 children. She received her Bachelor's degree in Communication with a Spanish minor from DePaul University. She obtained her Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
